decorating lounge, want one coloured wall just so doesnt look so beige!?

im decorating the lounge at the moment, it a new build property so the whole house is really natural and light beige, have just bought a new sofa which i really oversized and cushiony, have a black lcd tv and black and white vases, and a plain canvas with a stenciled pic of audry hepburn in it. room is quite modern but i was thinkin of painting one wall to break it up a bit, any ideas?

I don't know what your flooring is or what colour the sofa is, so it is a little difficult to judge.

For a dramatic effect, I'd recommend a deep ruby red which can look fab with a black and white colour scheme and with beige creams and chocolate browns. A rich burnt orange would serve the same purpose. For a different look, try a special feature wall paint and go for a gold or silver metallic finish. It's not too in your face, but it's a great effect and makes a huge difference to a room. You can get these from Homebase and B&Q.
