4 Easy Ways to Talk to your Customers and Increase Sales
In a world of social networking and blurring boundaries, your customers want to know your company and you're going to want to know them. Transparency is the key here. This is a time of consumer conscience, meaning that your customers and clients are becoming increasingly aware of the methods, ethics and philosophy behind what they eat, use and otherwise consume. Talking to your customers has therefore become key to a successful business. Thankfully, there are now myriad ways in which you can communicate with your customers and leave them feeling as if they've made a real connection not only with the person they dealt with, but with the company as a whole. To help you begin, here's easy ways to talk to your customers.
- Company philosophy. Having a moral, ethical or otherwise ‘good' philosophy behind every part of your business is the first step to a talking point. Have a poster printing service make a poster to outline your philosophy or print stickers to give away that explain your philosophy in an easy slogan. Customers feel comfortable with a company whose dealings are transparent, and if your company is in line with their particular philosophy, then it is likely they will want to discuss some aspect of it with you
- Web presence. Having a website up and running is essential in today's plugged-in society. On this you should have blogs pertaining to your product or service and an open comments section or forum where customers can communicate openly with you. As well as a website, a good idea is to have a profile on a social networking site like LinkedIn or Facebook. LinkedIn is generally for business only, but Facebook is primarily used socially. Enabling customers to find your profile and explore it will make them feel close to the company and will open lines of communication.
- Customer loyalty. Repeat customers are one of your most important resources for the shear fact that the relationship is reciprocating. Offer your loyal customers special deals on special days or have a loyalty reward system. Printing brochures and newsletters will keep them informed of sales and deals. Knowing they're important in your eyes will break down the first barrier and get you communicating with them easily. Customers want to feel like individuals, so try and call them by name if you can. They will in turn continue to buy from you and tell people they know that you're worthy of their money.
- The most important rule is to talk first. Initiating conversation with someone you don't know is difficult and most people will not think to begin as they may not deem it necessary. This doesn't mean that they don't want to open communication, they merely haven't thought of it. Being the first to say hello or offer a hand of friendship and you'll be surprised at how easily conversation flows from there. And from there, handing over your business card or closing a sale is easy as pie.
Opening lines of communication between you and your customers turns you from a faceless company into a warm and welcoming service that people will literally go out of their way to experience. With faceless corporations able to put millions into advertising to draw people in, putting almost no money into a simple and friendly openness is the best tact you can take.

Should my girlfriend feel disrespected?
I have been trying to get my girlfriend to make me a video involving saran wrap, a hot dog, a 20 oz bottle, and a poster of steve erwin!! and she wont do it, how can I talk her into doing this without feeling disrespected??
